Cyn y rheilffordd, trol a cheffyl oedd yn cludo\u2019r llechi o\u2019r Blaenau i\u2019r cei ym Mhorthmadog. Bu diddymu\u2019r dreth ar lechi ym 1831 yn sbardun i gynhyrchu mwy o lechi ac erbyn yr 1830au cynnar roedd y gwaith o adeiladu porthladd Porthmadog a\u2019r rheilffordd wedi dechrau. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"cy-GB\">Fe welwyd cynnydd mawr ym mhoblogaeth Blaenau, o 1,100 yn yr 1820au i dros 4,000 yn yr 1840au. Bu cynnydd hefyd yn y cynnyrch o lechi &#8211; o 18.000 tunnell ym 1835 i 48,000 tunnell ym 1855 ag i 89,000 tunnell yn 1865. Gostyngodd y costau o 15 swllt y dunnell i 5 swllt y dunnell. Hyd yn hyn, cludwyd y llechi o Blaenau trwy ddisgyrchiant a thimau o geffylau yn tynnu\u2019r wagenni yn ol i\u2019r chwareli ac roedd angen am well ddull i symud y llechi. Roedd angen ager, ac yn yr 1860au cynnar fe ddatblygwyd system rheilffordd trac cul. Cyrhaeddodd yr injan gyntaf ym 1863 ac o 1865 ymlaen defnyddiwyd cerbydau i gludo ymwelwyr o\u2019r Oakley Arms.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5418\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5418\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5418\" src=\"http:\/\/www.deganwyhistory.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/FfestiniogRailway-300x196.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.deganwyhistory.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/FfestiniogRailway-300x196.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.deganwyhistory.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/FfestiniogRailway.jpg 735w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5418\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Blaenau Ffestiniog<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"cy-GB\">Cr\u00ebwyd yr enwog <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"cy-GB\"><i>Double Fairlie \u2018Little Wonder\u2019<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"cy-GB\"> ym 1869 gan Charles Spooner a Robert Fairlie ac yn fuan wedyn daeth Rheilffordd Ffestiniog yn fyd enwog trwy ddangos ei bod yn bosibl adeiladu rheilffyrdd trac cul ar dirwedd anodd. Adeiladwyd traciau tebyg trwy\u2019r Ymerodraeth Brydeinig, America a Rwsia a daeth Gogledd Cymru yn gyrchfan bwysig i dwristiaeth. Adeiladwyd tai newydd ym Mlaenau Ffestiniog ar gyfer y tyfiant enfawr ym mhwysigrwydd y dref ond erbyn diwedd yr 1870au bu cwymp yn y farchnad a daeth monopoli Rheilffordd Ffestiniog i ben wrth i reilffordd LNWR dod i fodolaeth.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"cy-GB\">Cafwyd mwy o broblemau yn yr 1880au gyda thirlithriadau yn y chwareli yn achosi gostyngiad enfawr yn y cynhyrchiant. Adeiladwyd injan olaf y cyfnod yn Boston Lodge ym 1886 a bu gostyngiad yn y nifer o chwareli gan achosi llawer o ddiweithdra. Yng nghyfnod y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf, cyflymodd y dirywiad yn y diwydiant llechi ac roedd allforio ar y m\u00f4r yn anodd oherwydd ymosodiadau gan longau tanfor Almaeneg. Meddiannwyd y Rheilffordd gan y Llywodraeth ond ar ddiwedd y rhyfel roedd y Rheilffordd mewn cyflwr ariannol gwaeth nag erioed. Ym 1921, daeth yn gwmni preifat unwaith eto, y tro hwn gan Gwmni Alwminiwm Dolgarrog. Daeth y gwasanaeth i deithwyr i ben cyn yr ail ryfel byd. Gostyngodd y cludiant llechi o 54,000 tunnell ym 1934 i 6,400 tunnell ym 1943.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"cy-GB\">Tros amser, fe adfywydd y Rheilffordd ac o 1954 cafodd y trac ei ailosod a\u2019i ymestyn. Ychwanegwyd 25 milltir o drac pan feddiannwyd Rheilffordd yr Ucheldir. Mae terminws newydd yn cael ei adeiladu yng Nghaernarfon a&#8217;r rheilffordd yn brif gyrchfan i dwristiaid gan gludo 250,000 o deithwyr llynedd. Mae\u2019r rheilffordd wedi integreiddio\u2019n llawn efo\u2019r gymuned leol gyda gwirfoddolwyr a thrwy greu nifer o brentisiaid a gwaith i 90 o weithwyr. Mae hefyd yn gweithio mewn partneriaeth a Choleg Meirion Dwyfor.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"cy-GB\">Dyma hanes diddorol dros ben gyda diweddglo hapus. Mae safon y cerbydau heb eu hail gan ddefnyddio deunyddiau newydd ond gan gadw at y dyluniad gwreiddiol . Mae\u2019r gwaith coed a\u2019r paentio o safon fyd-eang.
