Ganed Dafydd yn Swydd Efrog ond symudodd y teulu yn \u00f4l i\u2019w gwreiddiau ym M\u00f4n pan oedd yn 5 oed. Ar \u00f4l cwblhau ei hyfforddiant i fod yn athro yn Bretton Hall, ger Wakefield bu\u2019n dysgu Celf a Dylunio yn Ysgol Uwchradd Swallownest ger Sheffield ac Ysgol Ramadeg Crewe. Yna mynychodd Goleg Celf a Dylunio Birmingham cyn cymryd swydd ddysgu yn Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi yn rhedeg yr adran cerameg fwyaf yn y DU ar y pryd.<\/p>\n<p>Mae wedi byw ym Mae Cemaes, Gogledd Ynys M\u00f4n ers 1974 ac mae wedi bod yn rhedeg cwch siarter pysgota a thwristiaeth allan o harbwr Cemaes ers blynyddoedd lawer. Ef yw Harbwr feistr Cemaes ac mae wedi bod yn Wyliwr Cynorthwyol y Glannau ers 1974, gan achub dros 400 o fywydau ar y m\u00f4r yn ystod y cyfnod hwnnw.<\/p>\n<p>Dechreuodd ein siaradwr ar ei gyflwyniad trwy drafod gwaith Lewis Morris, g\u0175r a fu\u2019n olrhain rhannau helaeth o arfordir Cymru yn y 18fed ganrif. Dangoswyd sleidiau o&#8217;i waith i ni ac roedd Dafydd wedi dod \u00e2 chopi o lyfr o&#8217;r siartiau hyn. Aeth ymlaen wedyn i ddangos sleidiau o sawl llongddrylliad, gan bwysleisio natur beryglus arfordir gogledd M\u00f4n. Roedd y llongddrylliadau hyn yn cynnwys y <i>Mary<\/i>, cwch hwylio brenhinol Charles 2il. Yna bu Dafydd yn trafod gwaith Francis Williams a\u2019i g\u0175r James a fu\u2019n allweddol wrth sefydlu cymdeithas leol o\u2019r enw Achub Bywydau ar y M\u00f4r. Dangoswyd sleidiau o&#8217;r hen fadau achub pren oedd yn dibynnu ar ddynion lleol yn rhwyfo allan mewn amodau peryglus iawn i achub cychod oedd mewn trafferthion.
