2022 Programme


The History of Deganwy Group have created a programme of events for 2022 which we hope will be of interest to all our members. A couple of talks are still to be confirmed and these will be updated as soon as we are able.

Thank you all for your patronage during recent months, it has not been easy, and hopefully 2022 will be a much better year for everyone.

Thursday, January 20th : ‘Posh Privies’ – Marian Gwyn.  **This meeting will be held on Zoom.

Thursday, February 17th: Snippets of History: (1) William’s Trowel – Trefor Price;  (2) An Interesting Headstone – Nerys Owen; (3) Benarth Hall – Stephen Lockwood.

Thursday, March 17th: Store and Show. Furniture from N Wales – Peter Collins

Thursday, April 21st: Martha Hughes Canon – Wil Aaron

Thursday, May 19th:  Industrial Families of Wales – Mike Blackburn

Saturday, June 25th:  Deganwy Prom Day

Thursday, June 16th Visit to Conwy Archives – Lucinda Smith

Thursday, July 21st Afternoon Walk around Bodnant. TBC

August:  No meeting

Thursday, September 15th Navigating the North Coast of Anglesey, Wrecks, Mysteries and Secrets – Dafydd Williams

Thursday, October 20th Conwy’s Military Heritage – Adrian Hughes.

Sunday, November 6th Annual Lunch + Guest Speaker – TBC

Thursday, November 17th  AGM + A Brief History of Benarth Hall; Owners, Occupants & Visitors – Stephen Lockwood

Saturday, December 3rd   Open Day. 10.00am to 3.00pm, Raffle & mince pies.

Unfortunately in order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions, some of our meetings will be held remotely via Zoom in 2022. As soon as we are able, we will return to our home at Peniel Chapel for meetings.

* Members will be given early notice of the Zoom meeting and also on the day of the meeting.
